The Use Of Whole Brain Teaching Method To Improve The Students’writing Skill On Descriptive Text
Abstract
The objectives of the research are to know whether Whole Brain Teaching Method can improve the students’ writing skill on descriptive text at the first grade students’ of SMP N 5 Percut Sei Tuan in 2019/2020 academic year and to describe the class condition when Whole Brain Teaching Method is implemented in writing class at the firstb grade students’ of SMP N 5 Percut Sei Tuan in 2019/2020 academic year. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 5 Percut Sei Tuan on 19 july until 30 july. The subject of research was students of class VIII 1 SMP Negeri Percut Sei Tuan in 2019/2020 academic year . The researcher conducted the research in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of these activities: planning the action, implementing the action, observing, reflecting and revising the plan. Technique of collecting the data used, observation, field note, and questionnaire. In analying data, the researcher used qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results of research finding shows that Whole Brain Teaching Method can improve the students’ writing skill on descriptive text. It can be seen from the average score from 57,71 in pre-test, and 68,59 in post-test 1, and it increased up to 77,09 in post-test 2. WholeBrain Teaching Method can make the class condition become more interesting.
