The Students’ Problems in Forming English Sentences of the Ninth Grade Students at SMP Nasrani 2 Medan.

Abstract

This thesis about The Students’ Problems in Forming English Sentences of the Ninth Grade Students at SMP NASRANI 2 Medan. The objective of this study is to find the students’ problems in forming English sentences of the ninth grade students at SMP Nasrani 2 Medan. This study applying descriptive qualitative research. This subject of the study was 27 students which consist of two classes namely IX 1 and IX 2. IX 1 consist 21 students as the main class and IX 2 consist 6 students as the triangulation to validation the data. The total sample was 27 students. The instrument of collecting data was descriptive text focus on writing test. The technique of collecting data was analyzed the answer sheet of the students. The students’ problems type that faced by 21 students in SMP Nasrani 2 Medan in forming English sentence used descriptive text , there are : lack of vocabulary, lack of grammar, lack of spelling, lack of punctuation, and lack of capitalization. It is important to pay more attention in forming English sentences and The students should be study harder to improve their grammar and their knowledge to forming English sentences. To forming English sentences well, the students must know the tenses are used, and the pattern of sentence based on the types of sentence.
