    Abstract
    This thesis deals with Figurative Language in Carel and Febrina’s Mbaba Belo Selembar Ceremony. The objective of the study are to find out the types of Figurative Language and most dominant of Figurative Language in conversation Mbaba Belo The discriptive-qualitative was used to analysis of the Figurative Language. The data were collected from casette the conversation between bride family and groom’s family by transcribing them. The data of this study is derived from identify and classify the types of Figurative Language of the transcript in Carel and Febrina’s Mbaba Belo Selembar. The result showed that there were 40 utterences. The finding indicatedthat the conversation of Mbaba Belo Selembar applied eight types of Figutaive Langauge according to Kennedy (1979) namely : Metaphor, Simile,Symbol,Hyperbole, Allusion, Metonymy, irony, Personafication.The totalcalculationof Figurative Language in each type are 4 Simile, 9 Symbol, 2 Hyperbole , 9 Allusion, 8 Metonymy, 8 irony, 1 Personafication, the dominant type of Figurative Language in Carel and Febrina’s Mbaba Belo Selembar Ceremony is 9 Allusion.
