    Abstract
    This study attemted to improve students’ skill in writing procedure text by using video media. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The population of this research was the eleventh grade students of SMA Swasta Advent 1 Medan. The sample of this research was class XI IPA which consisted of 27 students. The instrument for collecting data were writing test and diary note. After analyzing, the writer found that the students’ score increased from the cycle I to the cycle II. Based on the writing score, students’ score kept improving in every test. There was an improvernent of students score from 1616 in assesment before applying video became 1888 in cycle I and improved again become 2097 in cyle II. Based on diary note, it wasfound that the teaching learning process run well. Students were active and interested in writing after watching videos. It means that the use of video significantly improves the students’ achievement in writing procedure text. Therefore, it is suggested to English teacher to apply video media in teaching learning process particularly in teaching writing procedure text.
