AN ANALYSIS OF THE ACCURACY ON STUDENTS TRANSLATION OF ENGLISH DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN STORY
Abstract
The objective of the study is to find out the Accuracy in the translation of words and sentence in children story by English department Of UHN. The writer apply the theory of accuracy and inaccuracy formulated by Larson (1984). The method which was used in this study was descriptive qualitative method. The research was conducted at Univerity of HKBP Nommensen, on June 9, 2018. The sample of the research was students of English department on sixth semester. To get the data, the writer used a translating children story that is Cinderella story as the instrument. And the data of this thesis are all words and phrases that in paragraph one in the Cinderella story. After analyzing the data the writer found many students translation thus make the translation to be inaccurate. In here the writer also found 90% students translate inaccurate because their unfamiliar with the use of vocabulary in the story.
