This research was intended to investigate whether Supportive Fluency Instruction Strategy significantly effects on students’ reading comprehension. In this study, the writer was conducted an experimental quantitative research. The population on this research was the second year students of SMP N 37 Medan. The sample of this research were two classes, which were selected by using random sampling. They were 60 students. The first classes were 30 students as an experimental group was taught using Supportive Fluency Instruction Strategy. The instrument for collecting the data was reading tests. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula in order to see whether Supportive Fluency Instruction Strategy significantly effects on the students reading comprehension or not. The finding indicates that the value of t-test exceeds the value of t-table (2,56 > 1,671), at the level of significant p= 0,05 and the degree of freedom df= 58. The finding implies that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. In order words, there was a significant effects of Supportive Fluency Instruction Strategy on students reading comprehension narrative text.
