AN ANALYSIS OF THE ABILITY OF WRITING NARRATIVE TEXT OF 8TH GRADE STUDENTS AT SMP SWASTA HKBP SIDORAME

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know how good the students’ ability in developing generic structure of narrative text in written form in Junior High School. The research methodology used in this research is write narrative text. The result is used to know how good the students’ ability in write narrative text in written form which was focused in organization of narrative text. This research was conducted at SMP Swasta HKBP Sidorame. The sample was chosen VIII-2 based on the data of students’ score that is the lowest score of all classes. To get the result students work, the writer asked students to write a narrative text. After that the writer collected and checked it.the result of this study showed that the students are able to write narrative text. It can be seen from the median of students score which is higher that kkm that is determined in the school (81,16>75).
