Students Error Analysis in Changing Active into Passive Forms in Two Tenses (Simple Present and Simple Past) of the Third Grade Students at SMA swasta HKBP Sidorame Medan
Abstract
This study focused on analysis students error in changing active into passive voice in two tenses (simple present and simple past) of the third grade students at SMA HKBP Sidorame Medan. This study is aimed to obtain and to identify error made by the students in changing active into passive form. This study was conducted in Descriptive Qualitative research. The population of this study was was the Third Grade students of SMA HKBP Sidorame Medan. There were twenty students of the third grade senior high school students as the sample of this research. This study was conducted with twenty questions from the writer, the first ten was simple present and the second ten was simple past tense. This study showed that the students made so many error based on Surface Strategy Taxonomy namely, Omission, Addition, Misordering and Misformation when did the test. From the analyzing the writer found that the dominant error that students made was in Misordering errors with 16 errors, it is followed by Omission with 14 error, then Misformation with 8 error and the last Addition with 5 error. Therefore, the English teacher hopefully can motivate the students and teach the students more about grammatical and in changing active into passive form.
