dc.description.abstractThis study focused on finding out the effect of Mediated Instruction of Text (MIT) Strategy improve the students reading skill. This study was conducted by applying quantitative experimental design. The population of this research was grade ten students of SMA Swasta Parulian 1 Medan. There were twenty students used as the sample of research. This study was conducted with two randomized groups namely experimental group and control group. The experimental group was taught by Mediated Instruction of Text (MIT) Strategy, while the control group was taught without Mediated Instruction of Text (MIT) strategy. The instrument of collecting the data was reading test. The result of the t- test analysis shows that the tobs is higher than ttable. tobs > ttable (P = 0.05); (df = 18) 9,94 > 2.1009 (P = 0.05); (df = 18). It means that there was a significant effect of applying MIT Strategy on student’s Reading achievement. So the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted.en_US
