dc.description.abstractThis thesis title is “ An Analysis of Speech Act and Language Style Based on Sentence Structure in John Wick Movie ” In writing this paper, the study of linguistics by applying the Descriptive Qualitative Method is applied by the writer. This study aims to examine the utilization of speech acts and language styles in the context of the John Wick movie. The research design that used in this study will be the descriptive qualitative method. The study result identifies three types of speech acts: Locutionary acts (52,38%), Illocutionary acts (42,85%), and Perlocutionary acts (4,76%). Language styles are used in “John Wick Movie” is Climax (10,20%), Anti- climax (61,22%), Parallelism (10,20%), Antithesis (4,08%), and Repetition (14,25%). The analysis reveals that locutionary acts (52,38%) are the most dominant speech act, whereas anti-climax (61,22%) stands out as the most dominant language style. These findings shed light on the intricate use of language within the film context and its implications for audience comprehension of the narrative presented.en_US
