dc.description.abstractThis research was about the picture of sign in “Ngeri- ngeri Sedap” film which aimed to explore the kinds of sign that are expressed to analyze the semiotics meaning of triadic concept of signs including first trichotomy (qualisign,sinsign and legisign), second trichotomy (icon, index and symbol) and third trichotomy (rheme,dicentsign and argument) that found in the picture. This research was descriptive qualitative method using a semiotic theory who advocated by Peirce as the theoretical framework. The data of this study were collected from picture of “Ngeri-ngeri Sedap” film sign taking as its main research instrument. The analysis revealed that the meaning of the triadic concept of sign could indeed be interpreted using Peirce’s theory. The result of the study reveal that the meaning of triadic concept of sign element namely qualisign, sinsign, legisign, icon, indexs, symbol, rheme, dicentsign and argument can be interpret by using Peirce’s semiotic theory. From 16 picture, the writer finds qualisign 19, sinsign 19, legisign 12. Icon 14, index 49, symbol 21, rheme 17, dicentsign 11 and argument 10. From these results, the writer conclude that index is the most dominant type of sign in the picture of “Ngeri -ngeri Sedap” film.en_US
