AN NALYSIS OF DEIXIS FOUND IN “PEMUDA INDONESIA” TALK SHOW BY NAJWA SIHAB

Abstract

This thesis deals with the deixis in Pemuda Indonesia Talkshow version. The objectives of the study are to identify the types and dominant types of Pemuda Indonesia Talkshow by Najwa Sihab version. It was conducted to discover the types of deixis as proposed by Yule (1996) namely person deixis, spatial deixis, and temporal deixis. The research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative design. The data were which consists of utterance in the talkshow. The findings of data analysis showed that the total number of deixis of the three types of person deixis is 56 is 70%, Spatial deixis is 15 is 18,75%, temporal deixis is 11 is 13,75%. it means that person deixis is the most dominant type used in this Pemuda Indonesia Talkshow. The deictic word “ I” is dominantly use in the three chapter in Pemuda Indonesia Talkshow version because Pemuda Indonesia Talkshow involving the readers in the message in the form of advice from Pemuda Indonesia Talkshow.
