| dc.description.abstract | This thesis entitled “I CAN ONLY IMAGINE ” MOVIE SCRIPT BY ERWIN BROTHERS” the aim of this study is to analyze types of deiis in I can only imagine movie. this study used pragmatics approach, which using Levinson theory (2008) about deixis . in completing the analysis, the researcher uses descriptive qualitative as the research method of the analysis. The data of the writer utterances that contain deixis in I can only imagine movie transcript as the source of data and then classified into the types of deixis . the result of thi s study showed that there are 3129 data from I can only imagine which contain deixis, there are five types of deixix in this study, 2881 (92, 07℅)of data indicated person deixis, 99 (3,04℅)of data indicated spatial deixis, 69 (2,11℅) of data temporal deixis, 57 ( 1,72℅) of data indicated socil deixis, 23 (0,73℅) of data indicated discourse deixis. In this study person deixis is found as the dominant type in I can only imagine movie utterances.it is because in this movie tell about story of Bart in every day life. The researcher hopes this study will be useful to sharpen the other researchers in understanding deixis in pragmatics especialy about the types of deixis and expected to provide new reference when conducting research in different perspective | en_US |
