dc.description.abstract | This thesis discusses the analysis of slang words used in Facebook stories. The purpose of this study is to inform you about complex slang words (in this case, "words a lay") according to Indonesian standards. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. The authors chose a descriptive technique to analyze the data. The information was gathered from Messenger, Twitter, Instagram, Path, Line, and Facebook. To collect data, the author uses the method of observation. The subjects of this study were eighth grade students at SMP HKBP Sidorame who used a Facebook account with status slang words. The author took 23 posts of students on Facebook to get the data. The data collection instrument is an interview and a screenshoot of students. The data was obtained from Facebook stories. The results showed that 2 students liked to use the jargon type of slang words, 3 types of reverse slang words, and 18 students liked to use the abbreviation type. So, the types of slang words that are often used in students' Facebook stories are abbreviated. This means that many people, especially young people, are familiar with the abbreviation because it is easier to remember, simple and very fast to type if someone wants to convey something. This thesis is not only for other writers and researchers but also has benefits for the nation and state. The benefit is that it increases vocabulary and knowledge of slang words that are indirectly used in Facebook Stories. And also has benefits for teachers and students, namely making it easier to learn through Facebook Stories. | en_US |
