dc.description.abstractThis research aims to find out the difficult aspects that encountered by students SMP Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan, and to find out the dominant difficult aspects that encountered by students SMP Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan. This research applied the method that was used in descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research was class VIII and the object was class VIII-2 consisted of 27 students. This research used an instrument to collect the data namely multiple choices test. The result of the research show that there are 42% of students who have difficulties in determining the main idea of the text. Then, there are 41% of students who have difficulties in finding specific information of the text. Then, there are 43% of students who have difficulties in making inference of the text. The last, there are 44% of students who have the most difficulties in understanding the meaning of word in the text. Difficulties in reading comprehension are generated by various factors, namely: difficulty in long sentences in the text, difficulty understanding vocabulary, lack of vocabulary.en_US
