dc.description.abstract | This thesis aims to determine the types of derivational affixation and also the meaning of the derivational morpheme found in 500 Days of Summer Movie. A qualitative method applied in this study. According to Creswell (2012), qualitative methods are defined as a strategy that uses text and image data. The study suplied by describing, classifying, and analyzing the object, and it rely one on the texts, particularly the words that have bound morphemes. This study determines how the morphological modifications of words in derivational. Based on the data analysis found 18 various types of derivational affixes found in the 500 Days of Summer movie transcription. The derivational affixes are prefix un-, prefix dis-, prefix re-, and prefix in-. Suffix -ion, suffix -ly, suffix -or, suffix -er, suffix -ment, suffix -al, suffix -ist, suffix -ness, suffix -ee, suffix -ive, suffix -able, suffix -ful, suffix -less, and suffix -ship. Derivational mopheme is a bound morhpeheme that doesn’t have meaning if those morphemes are stand alone. When those bound morphemes are injected into free morpheme, they will be useful and also could make or created a new meanning and created a new grammatical class. There are some morphemes don’t change the grammatical but change the meaning and there also could change the meaning and also affect the grammatical class of the root. | en_US |
