dc.description.abstractThis is a study about meaning of Speech to Figurative Meaning. This thesis focuses on types of figurative meaning. There are five types of figurative meaning in this thesis. There are: Personification, Hyperbole, Metonymy, Metaphor, and Irony. The types figurative meaning were found in Speech. In analysis the kinds of figurative meaning on Obama;s Presidential Speech, the writer clearly clarified the non-literal meaning and the most dominant Presidential in Obama’s Speech edition January- Juny 2014. In order to strengthen the analysis, the writer applied Descriptive research. Descriptive research is intended to descibe and clarify the non literal meaning due to figurative meaning by collecting some theories and data those are related to this thesis. The data are analysis by selecting and classifying them into their types due to figurative meaning. From the result of this analysis,the writer found that the kinds of figurative meaning have different meanings to know the literal meaning which are used on Obama Presidential Speech.en_US
