dc.description.abstract | This study focused on finding out the effect of applying the Elicitation
technique on students’ speaking ability in eleventh graders students. The objective of this study is to find out if the application of the Elicitation technique and SMELT I 4.0 DE significantly affect students’ speaking ability. There were some problems of students in English conversation, the students could not speak English well, and it made some problems such as students still afraid of make mistakes, the students have the minimum vocabulary etc., This study was conducted by applying experimental quantitative research. The writer took 16 students as experimental group and 16 students as control group. The experimental group used Elicitation technique and the control group used the explanation method. The data were taken by observation by giving an oral test. The test was divided into pre-test and post-test for both experimental and control groups. The mean score of pre-test in the experimental group is 66,2 and the post- test is 85,8. The mean score of pre-test in the control group is 66,1 and the post- test is 76,1. It is conducted that the mean score of the experimental group is higher than the control group. | en_US |
