dc.description.abstractThe article writing found in the Jakarta post is essential to understand, especially in learning English, and to know the quality of the article. This study will investigate the lexical cohesion of educational articles in Jakarta post. This study aims to understand what kind of lexical cohesion is more dominant than is found in the educational article Jakarta post and why the kind of lexical cohesion is dominant to find. The writer used Halliday and Hassan's theories about lexical cohesion, which is lexical cohesion divided into two kinds, namely reiteration, and collocation. In reiteration, there are five types, namely, Repetition, Hyponymy, synonymy, antonym, and Meronym. This study was conducted using the qualitative method. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman's model (reduction, display, and verification). The results found Repetition happened in 9 items, synonymy 5 items, Hyponymy 2 item, antonym 1 item, meronym 2 item, and collocation item 12. The most dominantly kind that was found is Collocation with 12 items. Collocation is the more dominant that is found in this article the combination word is more use by the writer to the text to express certain meanings or intwntion to content of the article. It’s means that the fifth article uses the same words in clarifying the contents of the text.en_US
