| dc.description.abstract | This study dealt with the writing materials development for the grade X students of SMAN 1 Kolang. The objectives of this study is to know the writing materials are suitable to be developed for the students of SMAN 1 Grade X Kolang based on scientific approach in descriptive text. The data were gathered by administering interview to English Teacher and distributing questionnaire to 36 students. The interview and questionnaire results prove that the students needs English writing materials which is contained the appropriate knowledge or topic with syllabus and students’ level. The developed materials are descriptive text. The research design sugiyono (2008). The uses Research and Development (R & D) that were through theory 3 phases: Preliminary study, design the model of writing materials and Development the model of writing materials. The new writing materials are validated by two experts. Based on the experts judgement result, the score was 87.06 which belonged to good category in Dirgeyasa (2011), since the range is (70-89). The result of this finding is the materials that should be developed are unit 1 tourist attractions and historics buildings on the aspect of content,presentation, language, and graphic. | en_US |
