dc.description.abstractIn this reserch, the writer focused on the types of Grammatical Errors made by second semester of English department students in Nommensen HKBP University. This study used a qualitative descriptive study. the data wa the Grammatical errors in writing narrative text. The research collected data through steps by analyzed the students paper in writing narrative text. Finally the result of this study showed that there are four types of grammatical errors in writing narrative text namely Misformation with 30,5 % or 11 items, Ommission with 27,7 % or 10 items, Addition with 22,2 % or 8, Misordering with 19,4 % or 7 items. Based on the test of students writing, this research showed the students difficult to write narrative text and some of them just used their mind or their logic to write narrative text. The writer concluded that result because students were difficult in making the good sentence with good grammatical in English. So, the students still need more teaching about grammatical sentence and the lecturer should give more attention to the students in Second semester of Nommensen HKBP University so that it would give good contribution to each other.The writer suggest that the lecturer keep their attention in teaching the students about writing narrative text and improve the students grammar that they can use the good English in writing narrative text as well.en_US
