dc.description.abstract | This thesis discusses Parataxis and Hypotaxis Analysis used in Jokowi and Prabowo's political debate campaigns. The purpose of this study is to find out who with whom will challenge each other in a debate between candidates in a political debate, and who will defend his or her own opinion. This research was conducted by applying experimental quantitative research. The subjects of this research are Jokowi and Prabowo. This study aims to find the dominant type of logical meaning and identify a complex set of clauses found in both political debates. The data analysis of this research uses the SFL (Systemic Functional Linguistics) theory pioneered by MAK Halliday which divides the semantic relationship or logical meaning into two types, namely expansion consisting of elaboration, expansion, addition; then projection consists of locutions and ideas. He also divides the relationship between clauses into two, namely parataxis and hypotaxis. From the data analysis, 100 clauses were found. The dominant semantic relationship or logical meaning in complex clauses is the Paratactic extension of 25 clauses, the total of 2 clauses of elaboration, the total paratacic extension of 22 clauses, the total of the hyphitactic extension 6 clauses, the paratactic enhancement 9 clauses, the total hyphotactic enhancement 1 clauses, the total of the paratactic locution 12 clauses, the total of the paratactic idea 25 clauses and the last hyphotactic idea 1 clauses . This study concludes that Jokowi and Prabowo have different political campaign languages. And both use semantic or logical meaning and use complex clauses in their language in political debate campaigns. | en_US |
