dc.description.abstractThis thesis deals with An Error Analysis of Using Gerund Made by the Students in Writing Narrative Text at SMP N 2 Raya. Gerund is ing form which is used as noun. The objectives are to find out the types and the most dominant types of errors in using gerund. The method of this research is qualitative research which uses some techniques to collect the data. The data are taken from 15 students as the samples by asking them to write a narrative text in using gerund. The data, then are analyzed based on the kinds of and the most dominant errors. From the analysis it is found that the percentage of omission error 71,42%, addition is 08.57%, misinformation is 11,42%, misordering is 08,57%. therefore, the most dominant error is omission error 71,42%.en_US
