dc.description.abstractThis thesis is about the analysis of conversational implicature used by english teacher in teaching learning process at SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam. This research was used Descriptive Qualitative Method. The purpose of this research is to identify the types of conversational implicature by the English Teacher in SMK NEGERI 1 Lubuk Pakam and to identify the most dominant types of conversational implicature. The object of this research is the English teacher of the third grade at SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam. The data were in the form of words, and utterances employed by the teacher. The instrument used for collecting the data was by documentation and recording. The concept of conversational implicature was analyzed by using Grice theory. The result of the data analysis showed that there were two types of conversational implicature, they were: Generalized Conversational Implicature, and Particularized Conversational Implicature. The writer found there were 22 teacher’s utterances on types of conversational implicature. The result showed the total number of conversational implicature are Generalized Conversational implicature is 55%, Particularized conversational implicature is 45%. The most dominant type was Generalized Conversational implicature.en_US
