Critical Discourse Analysis On Headline Medan Local Newspaper

Abstract

This thesis is talk about Critical Discourse Analysis on Medan Local Newspaper The objective of the study are To described three dimension analysis on Critical Discourse Analysis such as Mikro, Makro, Meso analysis and To described the ideology that realized on headline Medan Local Newspaper, such as Tribun, Waspada, Analisa Newspaper. This study was conducted by applying Descriptive qualitative research . The subject of the study was Medan local Newspaper such as Waspada, Analisa ,SIB that divided into three topic such as social , politic and covid 19 that have similar topic ,and the sample of the research were the headline of medan local newspaper . The data in this study were sentences on headline newspaper that analyzed based on Fairclough‟s theory which divided into three dimension such as Micro, Macro and Meso analysis . The result of this reseach were found into Waspada Newspaper that micro divided on genre and consist of statement (4) , and indirect speech (1) , direct speech (3),and Macro analysis divided into power interpretation consist gave information (3) , and gave explanation (1) and Interpretation of ideologysuch as Waspada newspaper was delivered the news based on it‟s ideology and the Meso analysis as the information giver , and Analisa Newspaper that micro divided on genre and consist of statement (4) , and indirect speech (2) , direc speech (2) ,and Macro analysis divided into power interpretation consist gave information (4) , and Interpretation of ideologysuch as Analisa newspaper was delivered the news based on it‟s ideology and the Meso analysis as the information giver and reminder , and Sinar Indonesia Baru newspaper that micro divided on genre and consist of statement (4) , indirect speech (3) ,and Passive voice ,then Macro analysis divided into power interpretation consist gave information (4) , and Interpretation of ideology such as Sinar Indonesia Baru newspaper was delivered the news based on it‟s ideology and the Meso analysis as the information giver . it is suggested the student to study critical discourse because it‟s very importan cause many benefit that we got and make as more interested for read a newspaper.
