dc.description.abstract | This thesis is about The Effect of Using Word Matching Game on Student’s Vocabulary Mastery at Eight Grade Of SMP Swasta Bintang Laut Bagansiapiapi. The objective of the study is to find out whether or not Word Matching Game affect on students’ ability in vocabulary. This study was conducted by applying experimental quantitative research. The subject of the study was the Eight grade students of junior high school. The writer took VIII- A which consist of 10 students as experimental group and VIII-B which consist 10 Students as a control group. The population of this research was Eight Grade students in SMP Swasta Bintang Laut Bagansiapiapi. The writer took both classes as a total sampling to see The Effect of Word Matching Game into Students Vocabulary Mastery. The data were taken by giving vocabulary test which consists of multiple choice, gap-fill, matching, and Complete Sentences. The test was divided into two tests: pre- test and post-test for both experimental and control group. The mean score of the experimental class range from the pre-test was 61.4 and from the post-test was 86.4. and for the control class the mean score from the pre-test was 63.4 and from the post test was 70.4. It is concluded that the mean score of experimental group is higher than control group. The result that t-calculated >t-table at the level of significance p=0,05 (7.63>2.101). The alternative (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It is suggested that teachers of English subject apply Word Matching Game as an alternative teaching technique into vocabulary mastery at the Eight Grade student of Junior High School. | en_US |
