dc.description.abstractThis thesis is about An Error Analysis of using verb-ing formin Students‟ Writing Recount Text. The objective of the research is to categorize the types of error in students‟ writing procedure text in using verb-ing form and the dominant type of error in students’ writing recount text in using verb-ing form. This research was conducted by applying Descriptive Qualitative research. The subject of this research was second grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Medan. The researcher took 10 students in getting the data. The instrument of collecting data was writing test. The data were obtained from recount text. The result showed that the students made one kind of error, that is : Omission (100%). So, the dominant types of verb-ing error is Omission. It means that the students don’t know how to use verb-ing form in text, especially in recount text. This thesis is not only for the writer but also for the next researchers and the next teacher, this thesis also has benefit. The benefit is to make people more understand about verb-ing form.en_US
