dc.description.abstractThis study deals with the effect of blended learning method on students’ achievement in reading comprehension at the second grade of SMP N 1 Sipahutar. This study aimed to see the result of students’ achievement in reading comprehension with applying blended learning method. The objective of this study is to find out whether the blended learning method significantly affects on students’ achievement in reading comprehension at the second grade in SMP N 1 Sipahutar. The population of the study was the second grade students of SMP N 1 Sipahutar with six parallel classes and the total number 250 students. Sample in this research were taken two classes, they was VIII-1 and VIII-2. The experimental group (VIII-1) was taught by using blended learning method while the control group (VIII-2) was taught by using conventional method. The instrument of collecting data was multiple-choice test. The data were analyzed by using t-test. Based on the data, it was found that the students’ score improved from pre-test to post-test in experimental class. The result show that t-observed is higher that t-table value (4,24 ˃ 2,000) at the level significance 0,05 and the degree of freedom is 62. Therefore, it can be concluded that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Based on the result, there is a significant effect of using blended learning method on students’ achievement in reading comprehension.en_US
