dc.description.abstractThis thesis is about An Analysis of the Students’ Ability and Difficulties in Writing Recount Text at Tenth Grade Students in Tebing Tinggi. The objective of research is to describe the students’ ability and difficultiesin writing recount text at tenth grade in Tebing Tinggi. This research was conducting by applying Descriptive Qualitative research. The writer took 20 students of tenth in getting the data. The instrument of the collecting data was the writing test. The technique of collecting data was the writer explained what the recount text is, giving the example of recount text, the writer asked the tenth grade students wrote a recount text that chooses by themselves in 40 minutes and the writer collected the paper.The result of the analysis of students ability showed that majority of the students at tenth grade in Tebing Tinggi are average in writing recount text. It could be seen from the test and the result mean score 66.3. The students got average score. The result of analysis of students’ difficulties showed that majority of the students used present tense in the recount text and difficult to create the sentences using the material process.en_US
