dc.description.abstractThis research was conducted to find out the gammatical cohesion that occurs in the lyrics of pamungkas second album song lyrics. Grammatical cohesion is a grammatical tie that demonstrates a coherent relationship. The aims of this research are to identify the kinds of grammatical cohesion used in the lyrics of pamungkas second album and find the dominant type of grammatical cohesion found in the lyrics of pamungkas second album. This research used descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data.Besides, the researcher used 10 song lyrics from “Flying solo” album as the data of this research. This research used the theory of Halliday and Hasan (1976) to analyze the data. Based on the results of the study, it was revealed that almost all types of grammatical cohesion proposed by Halliday and Hasan (1976) was found in the song lyrics of Pamungkas second album “Flying solo”. The grammatical cohesion that occur are (1) reference that consists of personal, demonstrative, comparative reference; (2) substitution that consists of nominal substitution; (3) conjunction that consists of additive, adversative, causal, and conjunction. There were 743 grammatical sohesion used in Pamungkas second album which consists of reference 604 (81,3%), substitution 10 (1,4%), and conjunction 129 (17,3%). The most dominant grammatical cohesion used in Pamungkas second album is reference with 604 (81,3%) data.en_US
