dc.description.abstractThis thesis is a study of Student Perspectives on Obstacles at SMA Gajah Mada Medan Through Online English Learning During the Covid-19 Outbreak. This study aims to describe students' perspectives on the obstacles faced during online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative research. The data collection instrument is data collection. The data used is the perspective of students. The subjects of this research are students. The research focused on filling out questionnaires which were analyzed by the author, and the object of this research was conducted on students of class XIl IIS 1. The data were analyzed from the perspective of students using Clark Hull's theory (1940). There are eight barrier factors that can be found, namely administrative problems, social interaction, academic skills, technical skills, student motivation, time and support for learning, costs and access to the Internet, and technical problems. The results after observing the research questionnaire, the authors found 3 data based on students' types of obstacles, namely: students perspective related to the dimension of teaching material with a percentage of 76,7%, perceptions related to the dimension of atmosphere learning environment of 83,1% and discussed that student can adapt and adjust to all the dimension student interactions of 74,2% . According to student interviews about students perspective regarding obstacles through the online learning process at SMA Gajah Mada Medan that it all depends on the student, if the student are a good student at responding then students will be able to follow the learning. So based on the conclusion that 20 data were found to be obstacles through the online teaching and learning process for class XII IIS 1 english lesson at SMA Gajah Mada Medan.en_US
