dc.description.abstractThe aim of this research to improve students’ speaking skill through zoom application. The research design quantitative data and qualitative data in this research was classroom action research (CAR) which was done in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The population of this study was the eight grade students of SMP Gajah Mada Medan. The sample of this study is students VIII B was 20 students. They were chosen by cluster randomly. The data on the tests to compare the pre-test and post test scores. The instrument used in this study was speaking test. Based on observation sheets the students are active to follow the teaching learning process in the third cycles than in the one cycle is decrease. The result showed zoom that the post-test score was higher than the pre-test. The mean score of the pre-test was 73,15 (35% students’ pass the KKM) in the post test (cycle I ) 78,55 (80% students’ pass the KKM), and the post-test (cycle II) 84,35(pass the KKM 100%). Based on the data which had been analyzed, it can be concluded that there was a significant improvement of students’ speaking ability by using zoom application. The teacher is suggested to apply variation application for students to improve speaking ability so the students interested in speaking English.en_US
