dc.description.abstractThis study deals to compare the achievement of students who have high frequency and low frequency of formative evaluation in learning English vocabulary. The title of this research is Comparative Study of English Vocabulary Achievement Between Students Who Are Given High Frequency of Formative Evaluation and Those Who Are Given Low Frequency of Formative Evaluation. This research used descriptive qualitative as the research methodology. The population of this research was the eleven students of SMK Parulian 1 Medan. The samples of the research were two classes, they were XI-accounting and XI-Administration. The data of the test were collected by administering multiple choice test. The data were obtained through the students paper. The result showed that the scores of XI-Accounting was 98 while the scores of XI-Administration was 77. Based on the result of interviewed, the students of XI-Accounting did 6 formative evaluation for a semester while XI-Administration did 2 formative evaluation for a semester. It means the students of XI-Accounting got high frequency of formative evaluation. So, it can concluded that the students who are given high frequency of formative evaluation more effisien than the students who are given low frequency of formative evaluation for the second grade students of SMK Parulian 1 Medan. It showed by the scores of the students of XI-accounting and XI-Administration.en_US
