dc.description.abstractThe shift of cohesion occurs when there is an overt relationship between Source Language and Target Language and the concepts of source language are known shared in the receptor language. The conjunction is a word that connect other words or group of words. The purpose of this research is to describe conjunction shifts used by machines translation (Google Translate, Ttalk, Yandex Translation, PONS Translate, and Bing Microsoft translate) in translating narrative text English-Indonesian. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research is the result of shift translation in conjunctive from narrative text using machines translation. The source of the data in this research is conjunction from narrative text English-Indonesian. The result of this research shown that the percentage of explicitation shift is (0%), implicitation shift is (100%), meaning change is (0%) it is occurred in Google Translate in translated conjunction. The percentage of explicitation shift is (0%), implicitation shift is (100%), meaning change is (0%) it is occurred in T-talk in translated conjunction. The percentage of explicitation shift is (0%), implicitation shift is (0%), meaning change is (100%) it is occurred in Yandex Translation in translated conjunction. The percentage of explicitation shift is (0%), implicitation shift is (0%), meaning change is (100%) it is occurred in PONS Translate in translated conjunction. The percentage of explicitation shift is (0%), implicitation shift is (0%), meaning change is (100%) it is occurred in Bing Microsoft Translate in translated conjunction. From the finding above, it is described that machine translation better translated source text more did shift than the translation machine that lower did shift in translating conjunction from narrative text in English- Indonesian where Ttalk are higher machines translation and often made shift to show the good translation.en_US
