dc.description.abstractThe study was focused on finding out the effect of using posters on students' achievement in writing hortatory exposition text of eleventh-grade students 2020/2021. The objective of this study is to find out the application of poster significantly affect students' achievement in writing hortatory exposition text, the most of students could not writing hortatory exposition text by focusing on generic structure and language features, and it made problems such as the students could not determine which one is identification and description (organization) and the characteristic (grammar, vocabulary, mechanics). This study was conducted by applying experimental quantitative research. The writer took 10 students as experimental group and 10 students as the control group. The experimental group used posters and the control group used the explaining by conventional method. The data were taken by asking students to make hortatory exposition text. The test was divided into two tests they are pre-test and post-test for both experimental and control groups. The mean score of the pre-test in the experimental group is 54,4 and the post-test is 83,4. The mean score of the pre-test in the control group is 50,2 and the post-test is 61,6. It was obtained that score of the experimental group higher than the control group. the result that t-calculatedt-table as the level of significance p=0.05 (2.601.734). It means that the Ha hypothesis was accepted or there was a significant effect of using posters on students' achievement in writing hortatory exposition text.en_US
