dc.description.abstract | This thesis is a study about an analysis of experiential meaning in students’ writing narrative text. The objective of this research is to analyze the experiential meaning in students writing narrative text in SMP HKBP Pardamean. This research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The source of data was taken from the ninth grade which consist of 20 students’ sheet. The data was chosen 10 texts randomly. The data analyzed by observation. To get the result, the writer should finding some clauses, identifying the clause based on the process, participant, and circumstances based on theory used. After that the writer determining the dominant type of process of each text. The result of this study shows there are six types of process that occur in student’s narrative text. They are, material process, relational pocess, mental process, verbal process, behavioural process, and the last existential process. Material process more dominant than others process because the students tell their activity in their experience. It was 106 times occur in student’s text. The second dominant process was relational process occur 39 times and the third was mental process which occur 38 times. In the fourth position was verbal process which occur 11 times. The fifth position was existential process which occur 8 times and the lowest was behavioural process which occur 3 times. This study is suggest for the students in English Department and also for English teacher as resource of valuable knowledge and information of experiential meaning. | en_US |
