This study aim to explain how the correlation between students’ learning style and students’ English learning achievement. The design used in this research is quantitative design with correlation studies. The population in this study is second grade students class VIII-9 at SMPN 17 Medan academic year 2020/2021. In this research, there are two variable. The first is learning styles (variable X) and students English learning achievement (variable Y). the data of students learning styles was taken from questionnaires distributed to them while English learning achievement were taken by means of documentation. In analyzing data and testing hypothesis, the writer used the coefficient contingency (C) which has close relationship with Chi-square (X^2) formula. Based on data analysis, it was found that the obtained Chi-square (X^2) was 2.806. The writer determined degree of freedom (df) = (2-1) (3-1) based on df 2 and significance level 5% , Chi-square (X^2) table = 5.591. it means the obtained X^2 was smaller than X^2 table (2.806< 5.591). it meant Ho was accepted and Ha was rejected. Since Ho was accepted, the finding shows that there was correlation but no significant correlation between students’ learning style and their achievement in English learning achievement at the second grade of the SMPN 17 Medan. The insignificant result probably occured since the students’ learning style was not the only factor that affects students’ English learning achievement. Based on to the theories there were other factors that affect achievement such as motivation, aptitude, personality, cognitive style, learning strategies, and there were also the factors that affect English learning.en_US
