dc.description.abstract | This study is attempted to find out the effect of applying Outlining Technique on students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraph at Tenth grade students. The objective of this study is to find out the application of Outlining Technique significantly affect students' achievement in writing descriptive paragraph. There were some problems of students in writing descriptive paragraph, the most of students were not able to write descriptive paragraph by focusing on generic structure and language features, and it made problems such as the students could not determine which one is identification and description(organization)and the characteristic (,grammar, vocabulary, mechanics. This study was conducted by applying experimental quantitative research. The writer took 10 students as experimental group and 10 students as the control group. The experimental group used Outlining Technique and the control group used the Explaining by conventional method. The data were taken by asking students to make descriptive paragraph essay. The test was divided into two tests they are pre-test and post-test for both experimental and control groups. The mean score of the pre-test in the experimental group is 54,4 and the post-test is 83,4. The mean score of the pre-test in the control group is 50,2 and the post-test is 61,6. It was obtained that score of the experimental group higher than the control group. In other words there was a significant effect of using Outlining Technique on students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraph for tenth grade students in Siborongborong. | en_US |
