dc.description.abstractThis thesis is about The Appropriateness of Writing Generic Structure in Descriptive Text by The Students of SMP, University Students, and English Teacher. The objective of the research is to describe that the students of SMP, University students, and English teacher appropriate of writing generic structure (identification) in descriptive text. This research was conducted by applying Descriptive Qualitative research.The researcher took 10 students of SMP, 10 students of university, and 5 teachers in English teacher in getting the data. The instrument of collecting data was writing test. The procedure of collecting data was the writer explained what the descriptive text is, and the writer asked the subject what they are interest in it, it is a person, animal, and thing. and the writer gave 90 minutes to make descriptive text, and the writer collected the paper. The result showed that the students of SMP appropriate is (30%) and inappropriate is (70%), the students of university appropriate is (40%) and inappropriate is (60%), and English teacher appropriate is (80%) and inappropriate is (20%). So, from the percentage above there is many students inappropriate of writing generic structure in descriptive text.en_US
