dc.description.abstract | The study is generally attempted to find out the effect of Experience Text Relationship (ETR) Method in Reading Comprehension at eighth grade student. The data was collected from the result of reading test. To know whether this method effective or not, the writer used a pre-experimental study applied in eighth-grade student. The study had been done in 4 meetings that were designed, the first meeting was for the pre-test, two meetings were for treatment and the last meeting was for the post-test. As the experimental quantitative research, the writer analyzed the data by using a t-test. The result showed that there was significant value in pre-test and post-test after taught with Experience Text Relationship Method in reading comprehension on descriptive text. The student‟s mean of pre- test score in Experimental was 36.5 and the student‟s mean of post-test in Experimental was 82.5 while the student‟s mean s of pre-test in control was 28.5 and the student‟s mean of post-test in control was 51.5. The result of t-test (t- observed) was also higher than t-table at the level of significant α=0,05 tobservation(4,760) > ttable (1,725). It proved that the Experience Text Relationship (ETR) Method gave a significant effect on students reading comprehension. In other words, the Experience Text Relationship Method in Reading Comprehension is effective in teaching reading comprehension for eighth-grade students in Sidamanik. | en_US |
