dc.description.abstractThis study concerns with improving students’ achievement in writing narrative paragraph through Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual (SAVI) model. This research was conducted by using classroom action research which was carried out in two cycles in five meetings. The subject of this research was grade eight students (VIIIA) of SMP SWASTA GAJAH MADA which consisted of 30 students. The instrument for collecting data were quantitative data (writing narrative test) and qualitative data (observation sheet, diary notes, and interview sheet). Based on the writing test score, students’ score kept improve in every test. The result of writing test showed that the students’ score in pre test was 52, 73%, the students’ score in cycle I test was 66,23 % and the students’ score in cycle II test was 76%. The students’ score showed that the treatment was successful because the result of cycle II test was higher than cycle I. Based on observation sheet, diary notes, and interview sheet it was found that teaching learning process ran well. The students were more active, and more enthusiastic during the teaching learning process in the cycle II than the cycle I. The result of the research showed that Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectua (SAVI) model improved significantly the students’ achievement in writing narrative paragraph.en_US
