dc.description.abstractThis study aims to uncover students' misconceptions in several Pematangsintar City High Schools in the field of physics studies, especially in Mechanics. The research method used in this study is a survey. Sampling was carried out using proportional stratified random sampling technique, so as to obtain samples from the upper, middle and lower states as much as 2 schools with each class taking 1 class. The research found that the percentage of students who experienced misconceptions was 11.6% and the percentage was smaller than the percentage of students who did not understand the concept, the percentage of students who did not understand the concept was 17.8% and the percentage of students who understood the concept was 70.5% . Through the dissemination of misconceptions of mechanical material to students of the Field Experience Program in Physics Education Study Program as prospective teachers, it is expected to further minimize misconceptions in mechanical material in Pematangsiantar City High School students.en_US
