dc.description.abstractThis thesis a study about an analysis of transitivity system in recount text written by the eleventh grade of SMA Swasta Mulia Pratama Medan. The objectives of this study is to indentify the process types and the most dominant process types in the recount text written by the students of SMA Swasta Mulia Pratama Medan. The study uses the describtive qualitative research as the research design. The subject of this study is the eleventh grade of SMA Swasta Mulia Pratama Medan which consist of 17 students. The writer took 10 random sampling as the subject os this study, finally, the result of this research study shows there are six types of process that occur in the student’s recount text. They are, material process, mental process, relational process, verbal process, behavioral process and the last is existentional process, the most dominant process from the other types of process is material process which occur 98 times. In the second place held by relational process which occur 44 times followed by the mental process which occur 31 times. In the fourth position held by verbal process which occurs 5 times. The second lowets position held by existentional process which occur 2 times. And the lowets position held by behavior process which occurs only once in the whole data. Material process is the highest process occurrence because the tell their activity in their experience. This study is suggested for the students in English Department and also for English teacher as resource of valuable knowledge and information of transitivity system.en_US
