dc.description.abstractThis research deals with effort of finding The Effect of Using Documentary Video Media on Students’ Achievement in Writing News Item Text at the Tenth Grade of SMK N 1 Medan. The objective of the study is to find out whether using documentary video media effects students’ achievement in writing news item text at the tenth grade of SMK N 1 Medan. This study was conducted in experimental quantitative research. There were 40 students used as the sample who came from grade X Senior High School SMK N 1 Medan. This sample of this research was divided into two groups, namely experimental group and control group. The instrument of collecting the data was writing news item test. The data where analyzed by t-table (7,75>2,02) at the level significance is 0,05 and degree of freedom (df) is 38. The null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Thus the result of finding that there is significant effect of using documentary video media on students’ achievement in writing news item text at the tenth grade of SMK N 1 Medan.en_US
