Politeness Strategies in Conversation As Found in AlaniHapogoson Movie by PontiGea.

Abstract

This thesis deals with Politeness Strategies in Conversation As Found in AlaniHapogoson Movie by PontiGea. The objectives of this study are to find out the Politeness Strategies and the dominantly Politeness Strategies in the conversation script in AlaniHapogoson Movie. The Descriptivequalitative was used in the analysis of the Politeness Strategies. The data of this thesis is derived from identify and classify the Politeness Strategies in AlaniHapogoson movie’s transcription. The resuld showed that there were 105 Politeness Strategies. The findings indicated that the script of AlaniHapogosonmovie applied four Politeness Strategies based on George Yule : Positive Politeness, Negative Politeness, On Record Politeness, Off Recod Politeness. The total calculations of Politeness Strategies in AlaniHapogosonmovie are Positive Politeness (20), Negative Politeness (5), On Record Politeness (78), and Off Record Politeness(2).The dominant type of Politeness Strategie is On Record Politeness Strategies (78).
