dc.description.abstractThis research entitled “Politeness In Conversation By Anak Beru AtNganting Manuk” is intended to identify types of politeness and tries to find the most dominant politeness usage employed at Nganting Manuk. The researcher use Yule (1996) and Brown & Levinson Theory (1987). There are four types of politeness; they are Bald On Record, Positive Politeness, Negative Politeness and Bald Off Record( Indirect). The researcher applies the descriptive qualitativemethod to describe and analyze all the data, because the data of this research are in form of conversation. It is analyzed by Identifying, Classifying and Making conclusion the data. The researcher also note the number of the types and the most dominant type of politeness at Nganting Manuk. The result showed that there were 27 sentences. The total calculations of politeness in each type are Bald On Record (8), Bald Off Record (11), Positive Politeness (6) , and Negative Politeness (2). The dominant type of Politeness In Conversation By Anak Beru At Nganting Manuk is Bald Off Record (11).en_US
