The research about to find out the effect of using CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition) technique design. The recount text of students. The method of the research was experimental design. The population of the study is the second year students of SMP N 2 PERCUT SEI TUAN. There are two groups of ten classes chosen as the sample by using random sampling, they are experimental group and control groups; each class consisted of 30 students. The experimental group was taught by CIRC technique and control group was taught without using CIRC technique. The instrument used to collect the data was multiple choice test. The students’ achievement taught by using CIRC technique is higher than the students’ achievement taught by using conventional method. The pre-test and post-test were administrated. The total score of pre-test in control group is 1520, mean 50,66 and the total score of post-test 2355, mean is 78,5. While the total score of pre-test in experimental group is, 1445, mean 46.16 and the total score of post-test in experimental group is 2460 mean is 80. The data were analyzed statically by applying the t-test formula. The result shows that the Tobservedis higherthan Ttable value 8.462> 1.671 at the level of significance 0,05. It implies that CIRC technique significantly affect the students’ reading recount text of SMP N 2 PERCUT SEI TUAN.en_US
