dc.description.abstractThis study intended to find out the effect of using Constructivist Approach towards students’ reading comprehension of procedure text. This study was conducted by experimental quantitative research. The population of this research was the first year of SMK N 1 Dolok Sanggul. There were 70 students in the first year vocational high school that took as the sample of this study which divided into 35 students for experimental class and 35 students for control class. The experimental class was taught by Constructivist Approach while control class was taught by conventional strategy. The instrument that used to collect the data was multiple choices with 50 items. To calculate the reliability of the test, the researcher used Kuder-Richardson (KR21)formula. The calculation shown the reliability of the test was 0.99 (high). Besides, the data were analyzed by using t-test formula. The calculation shown that t-observed (4.06) was higher than t-table (1.994) at the level of significance (α) 0.05 with the degree of freedom (df) 68. It proved that applying of language Constructivist Approach significantly affects the students’ reading comprehension of procedure text. Thus, alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.en_US
