| dc.description.abstract | This thesis attempts about error analysis of countable and uncountable noun in writing descriptive text at junior high school. The objective of the study is to identify types of error and to find out the dominant type of student’s error in writing descriptive text at second grade students of SMP N 37 Medan. The study used descriptive qualitative method. Finally, the result of the study shows there are three types error found in students’ writing test, namely Error of Omission, Error of Addition and Error of Misformation. The writer analyzed the data by made table list of the students’ errors, classifying the students’ error, and calculate the data. The result of this study were 71 errors on using countable and uncountable noun in a sentence. Error of Omission were 26 errors (36%), Error of Addition were 40 errors (57%), and error of Misformation were 5errors (7 %) and the dominant error were error of Addition 40 errors (57%). Students made that error because the students didn’t understand and still confused when used they suffixes (s/es) and the characteristics of countable and uncountable noun. This thesis is suggested for the students in English Department and also for English teachers as source of valuable knowledge and information of student’s error in using countable and uncountable in writing descriptive text. | en_US |
