dc.description.abstractThis research is focused to discuss about students difficulties in Learning Modal Auxiliaries of The Eighth Grade Students of SMP Hosana Medan. The objective of this study is to find out the difficulties in learning modal auxiliaries of the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Hosana Medan. The study was designed by descriptive qualitative research. The result of the study can see by the most dominant erorr in answer the essay test. Most of students make errors in misordering errors with 92 erorrs. It is happen because the students difficulties in understanding the meaning of the questions. The students difficulties in using of modal auxiliaries in past tense, present tense and Future. This can be seen from the most dominant error type which has been made by the students is misordering errors. The students in understanding the using modal auxiliaris in permission, possibility and ability. This thesis is suggested for the students and also teacher of English Departement as source of valuable knowledge and information of the difficulties in learning modal auxiliaries.en_US
